
Every year on Thanksgiving evening, thousands of Houstonians and out-of-town guests gather along Post Oak Boulevard for the annual Uptown Holiday Lighting. This FREE family event features festive music by local groups including the Houston Concert Band, Salvation Army Harbor Light Choir, Houston Choral Showcase, and more; holiday characters including clowns, larger than life Santa’s reindeer; a special appearance from Santa; lighting of more than a half million twinkling lighting on 80 trees and an incredible fireworks extravaganza.
But it does not end there. The holiday ambiance created by 80 brilliantly-lit holiday trees standing guard over Post Oak Boulevard as well as numerous decorations and lighting throughout the area continues into the holiday season.

Event Highlights
Holiday Music and Concessions - Families can arrive early to enjoy the sounds of their favorite holiday tunes. Also savor the flavors of the holidays as funnel cakes, cotton candy, kettle corn and holiday beverages are just a few of the scrumptious treats that will be sold at area concession stands.
A percentage of concession sales will benefit Be An Angel, a non-profit organization serving children with multiple disabilities, and the Houston Area Urban League, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping disadvantaged people secure economic self-reliance, power and civil rights.
Free to the public, Uptown Holiday Lighting will feature a Merry Holiday Stage Show with festive live performances from the Houston Concert Band, Houston Choral Showcase and Salvation Army Harbor Light Choir, among others.
Santa Lights the Boulevard - With the help of the audience, Santa and his reindeer will light up more than a half-million twinkling lights on 80 Christmas trees along the boulevard and building rooftops to herald the arrival of the holiday season.
Dazzling Fireworks Extravaganza - A dazzling holiday fireworks extravaganza will light up the Houston sky choreographer to favorite holiday music, setting the stage for a spectacular holiday season.
About Be An Angel
Be An Angel is a volunteer based organization that relies solely on the generosity of the community for its support. Volunteer “angels” work together to improve the quality of life for children with multiple disabilities or profound deafness by providing adaptive equipment and select services to individuals and institutions that require a supplement to alternative means of funding.
