HOUSTON (Aug. 2017) . . . Due to the construction of Post Oak Boulevard, the Uptown Houston Holiday Lighting event, annually held on Thanksgiving evening, is being postponed until 2019. Post Oak Boulevard is currently being rebuilt into an exquisitely designed grand boulevard. Concurrently, plans are underway to produce an ALL NEW Uptown Houston Holiday Lighting event. “We have an opportunity to create an even more spectacular event and an incredible destination boulevard for the holidays,” said John Breeding, President, Uptown Houston District. “Many of the new elements on the boulevard will become feature holiday decorations.” The traditional Thanksgiving evening event will recommence November 2019.
