The 32nd Annual Uptown Holiday Lighting event will return on Thanksgiving evening, November 28, 2019, kicking off the holiday season on a newly transformed Post Oak Boulevard. This FREE event features live entertainment, a visit from jolly Saint Nick, a fireworks extravaganza and a dazzling new light show.
An iconic and time-honored Houston tradition, the family-friendly celebration is being reimagined with the introduction of over 300 all-new, 20-foot-tall holiday trees that will line Post Oak Boulevard from the West Loop to Richmond Avenue.
The event is FREE with FREE parking available throughout the Uptown area.
Enjoy a festive atmosphere with holiday music, uniquely decorated art cars, and favorite holiday treats at the concession stands. A portion of the proceeds from concession sales benefit Be an Angel and Houston Area Urban League.
Sunny 99.1’s Dana Tyson welcomes the crowd back to the 32nd Annual Uptown Holiday Lighting and start of the Merry Holiday Stage Show. Emcees, Dave Morales and Susan O’Donnell, lead the crowd through the evening and performances featuring local Houston entertainment including event staples Houston Concert Band, America’s Got Talent Semi-Finalist and Houston’s Christina Wells, Houston Show Choir, Ballet Folklorico Herencia Mexicana de Houston, A.D. The grand finale begins with a count-down led by Santa to light up over 300 new holiday trees lining Post Oak Boulevard. The Houston skies fill with an incredible fireworks extravaganza and the evening will culminate with an all new dazzling Dance of the Trees light show, all choreographed to holiday music.
Four times the number of traditional Christmas trees that existed in years past, the custom artisan-fabricated holiday trees, each adorned in 249 individually controllable LED light units, feature an amazing integration of lighting technology to create a stunning multi-colored light show that will dance along the Boulevard. Guests will also enjoy to a new pedestrian-friendly Post Oak Boulevard featuring widened sidewalks, extensive pedestrian lighting and enhanced landscaping.
