New Development

  • Whole Foods Market has recently made plans to build a 78,000 square foot Houston flagship store at the southwest corner of Post Oak and San Felipe.
  • After a decade-long absence, Houlihans Restaurant, Inc. has recently returned to Houston. A revamped menu includes eclectic menu items such as white fish tacos, Thai chile buffalo wings and calamari salad, in addition to a classic menu of pastas, ribs and desserts.
  • Arturo's Uptown Grill , a concept featuring "new Italian" cuisine from longtime restaurateurs Arturo Boada and Bill Sadler, founders of Beso has come to Uptown as part of the Uptown Park Expansion.
  • Known as Houston’s most popular tourist and shopping destination, The Galleria recently underwent a major face-lift, including a 700,000 square-foot expansion, at a cost of $100 million. The expansion includes Houston’s first Nordstrom's and 70 other fantastic stores. For more information, visit www.galleriahouston.com.
  • New construction is planned for an AD Players Theatre and shopping center at Yorktown and Westheimer. The 85,000-square-foot performance theatre will include three theaters, seating a total of 1,000 visitors.
  • Uptown Park, the European-styled retail center at Post Oak Boulevard and West Loop 610 South, has completed construction on this expansion project.  This 22,000 square foot structure is built on a 2.5 acre tract situated across Uptown Park Boulevard from the main complex. 
  • The former Lord & Taylor space in The Galleria now features 10,000 square feet of new-world cuisine and retail shops.  Kona Grill and The Oceanaire Seafood Room anchor the new space.
  •  BLVD Place is a 22 acre site which includes the Fashion Square and the Pavilion retail centers, and is located at the corner of Post Oak Boulevard at San Felipe.  Recently acquired by Wulfe & Co., this project  is slated to demolish the two retail centers and develop a major mixed use project that could include a new outdoor shopping center, a residential high-rise and a five-star hotel.  Construction should begin in 2007.
  •  The Westcreek Apartments are a 29 acre site located inside the loop on Westheimer, currently comprised of 1,200 Class B apartment units.  These apartments will be razed and redeveloped into a large scale, high-end, 1.5 million sf mixed use development which will include specialty retail, a boutique hotel and will be surrounded by mid-rise and high-rise residences fronting a central plaza.
  • Trademark Property Co. has signed a 100-year ground lease on a 6-acre site, formerly the Central Ford location just inside the loop at 4410 Westheimer.  The site is being redeveloped into a 100,000 sf mixed-use project, known as High Street, which should open in late 2008.  The project will have specialty retail, restaurants and entertainment space on the ground floor.  It will be topped off with 250 to 350 apartment units.
