New Development

  • Hotel Indigo, a new boutique hotel concept by Intercontinental Hotels Group has recently opened in Uptown Houston at 5160 Hidalgo near Sage Road. The 132 room hotel will have a cafe, wine bar and exercise room, and guest rooms will feature wood flooring, high ceilings and oversized walk-in showers.

  • The recently opened Granduca Hotel is a luxury, extended stay hotel. It features six stories, 132 rooms, and is designed with guests’ privacy in mind. Designed by Giorgio Borlenghi, it is based on the European concept of a residential hotel.

  • The former Doubletree Hotel Houston-Post Oak has recently been remodeled and rebuilt to become the new Hilton Houston Post Oak. The hotel features 30,000 square feet of meeting space, and new executive lounge, and high-speed internet connectivity in every room, around the pool, and in the restaurant.

  • Hotel Derek, formerly the Red Lion Hotel, located off the West Loop at Westheimer, recently opened as Houston's first post-modern hotel with the addition of new rooms and an upscale restaurant. For more information, visit www.hotelderek.com.

  • The Hilton Garden Inn, located on Sage Road between Richmond Avenue and Hidalgo Street, is eight-stories and includes 182 guestrooms. 

  • The Homewood Suites hotel is located on Sage Road near West Alabama, situated between 3000 Sage apartments and Shops on Sage retail. The 14-story project has 160 rooms and opened in June 2006.

  • The Courtyard by Marriott is a 15-story hotel, designed by Mitchell Carlson Stone, Inc., and features 190 guest rooms.

  • BLVD Place is a 22 acre site which includes the Fashion Square and the Pavilion retail centers, and is located at the corner of Post Oak Boulevard at San Felipe. Recently acquired by Wulfe & Co., this project is slated to demolish the two retail centers and develop a major mixed use project that could include a new outdoor shopping center, a residential high-rise and a five-star hotel. Construction should begin in 2007.

  • The Westcreek Apartments are located on a29 acre site located inside the loop on Westheimer and are currently comprised of 1,200 Class B apartment units. These apartments will be razed and redeveloped into a large scale, high-end, 1.5 million sf mixed use development which will include specialty retail, a boutique hotel and will be surrounded by mid-rise and high-rise residences fronting a central plaza.
