The Uptown Houston District, a non-profit organization, is committed to serving Uptown's business and residential interests. The organization helps to promote the area, encourages economic growth of dynamic businesses and redevelopment, and facilitates funding to create an urban center of exceptional beauty and unparalleled amenities.

Over the years, the organization has helped fuel the growth of the area. Uptown Houston is comprised of four sub-organizations: the Uptown Houston Association, the Uptown Houston District, the Uptown Houston Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) and the Uptown Development Authority.

The overall responsibility of Uptown Houston is to continually refine and enhance its unparalleled amenities and exceptional beauty of the area by improving accessibility, enhancing identity and sense of place, and sustaining the vibrant community that is Uptown.
